Nas Daily script

I was one of 5 finalists for a scriptwriter’s role at Nas Daily, out of 600 candidates.

This script I wrote features Officer Az-Oolay, an activist who appears at high-tension protests dressed as a clown police officer, diffusing conflict with kindness. Her presence shifts the atmosphere from fear to empathy, reminding that even the most heated political moments - are about people.
Crafting this story required distilling a complex political environment into a clear, punchy, and effective narrative.

Description
Is the solution to violence… a red nose?
Visual: Clashes in a demonstration, which turn into more relaxed scenes. Music: Starts dramatic, then ends with silence during “a red nose?”.
Meet Officer Az-Oolay, who is armed only with makeup, giant boots, and soap bubbles.
Visual: A scan of the officer, focusing on her gear as it’s called out. Music: Conveys surprise and curiosity.
She is a Jewish activist who shows up in mock uniform at protests and tense moments across Israel. Whether demonstrations against war or corruption… sit-ins in solidarity with hostages… road blockades… she’s everywhere.
Visual: Officer Az-Oolay driving in her car, and then walking into crowds in the mentioned events and interacting with people. Music: Slowly builds up, more upbeat, conveys richness and action.

Visual: Officer Az-Oolay speaking to the camera. Music: becomes softer.
At protests, Officer Az-Oolay gives hugs and heart-shaped stickers - even to soldiers and police officers.
Visual: Officer Az-Oolay in action. Music: Gentle, conveys heart.
Her presence often makes everyone calm down, reminding both sides that we’re all human. She turns fear and anger - into kindness.
Visual: Protesters and soldiers taking stickers, hugging her, smiling. Music: Conveys hope.
Officer Az-Oolay: “Calm down… we’re in this together
Visual: Officer Az-Oolay talking to an angry police officer, trying to calm him down.
But it's not just stickers and bubbles. Sometimes it’s dangerous! Officer Az-Oolay bravely challenges armed forces by blending into them or mimicking them. Once, she was even arrested!
Visual: Officer Az-Oolay marching with the forces, standing next to them and mimicking them. They threaten and yell at her to get away. Shots of her getting arrested. Music: Becomes dramatic.
But this hasn’t stopped her.
Visual: The officer smiling and looking at the camera. Music: Stops.
Officer Az-Oolay: “My job is to break down the definitions of who is what. Everyone is a beating heart.”
Visual: The officer talking to the camera. Music: Picks up gently.
Today, Officer Az-Oolay has a whole squad of clown-cops, helping her bring humanity into places it’s sometimes missing.
Visual: Shots of the clown squad in different scenes. Music: Upbeat.
Officer Az-Oolay: “If we believe something new can happen that we don’t see now… then change is possible. At your service!”
Visual: Officer Az-Oolay speaking to the camera, and ends with a salute. Music: Picks up, hopeful, ends with a triumphant note.
